We are excited to announce our partnership with Benzinga, expanding Polygon.io's data offerings to include Benzinga's comprehensive financial datasets. With immediate access through Polygon’s REST APIs, you can now tap into detailed analyst ratings, corporate guidance, earnings reports, and structured financial news, enabling deeper market analysis and informed decision-making.

Benzinga is a leading financial media outlet and data provider, relied upon by millions of investors for actionable news, analyst research, and market coverage. Benzinga’s teams aggregate, validate, and structure financial information from across the U.S. equity markets, making it accessible for both retail and professional users.

Getting Started

To access Benzinga datasets, you'll need an existing Polygon.io account, or you can quickly sign up. Individual Benzinga expansions start at $99/month and can easily be added via the subscriptions tab on your Polygon.io account. For business or enterprise pricing, please contact our sales team directly via sales@polygon.io.

Here’s a quick overview of the eight new REST API endpoints, grouped into four core categories:

Ratings & Insights

  • Analyst Ratings: Comprehensive historical analyst ratings covering publicly traded companies, detailing rating actions, price target changes, and the firms issuing these ratings. Each entry includes the rating date, action type (e.g., downgrade, maintain), analyst firm details, and optional attributes like price target adjustments and surprise indicators.

  • Consensus Ratings: Aggregated consensus ratings from financial analysts, summarizing buy/hold/sell sentiment, rating distributions, and price target ranges across multiple firms and analysts. Each record provides a high-level snapshot of market expectations and collective outlook for individual securities.

  • Analyst Insights: Detailed analyst commentary capturing the rationale behind rating changes, including valuation metrics, strategic initiatives, and sector positioning. Each insight provides structured context around analyst sentiment, recommendations, and company outlook, enriching deeper market and investment analysis.

Earnings & Guidance

  • Earnings: Historical and upcoming earnings announcements for publicly traded companies, including earnings per share (EPS), revenue figures, analyst estimates, and surprise metrics. Each record captures actual results, prior-period comparisons, fiscal period details, confirmation status, and event significance, providing clear, developer-friendly data for analytics and automated workflows.

  • Corporate Guidance: Structured company issued forecasts and guidance on projected EPS, revenue figures, and financial targets. Each entry provides guidance dates, fiscal periods, release types, and prior guidance values when available. Data is timestamped and filterable by ticker, fiscal period, or date range, ensuring easy integration into analytics and financial modeling workflows.

News

  • News: Comprehensive, timestamped financial news articles from Benzinga, featuring annotated headlines, full-text content, tickers, categories, sentiment tags, and author details. Each article includes metadata such as publication time, topic channels, optional summaries, and images, making it ideal for alerting, portfolio monitoring, or news-driven trading strategies.

Reference Data

  • Analyst Details: Reference data on financial analysts, including individual names, affiliated firms, historical ratings, and detailed performance metrics. Each analyst’s record provides insights into success rates, average returns, and percentile rankings, enabling deeper evaluation of analyst track records and informed research attribution.

  • Firm Details: Metadata for analyst firms and investment banks, including firm names and unique identifiers. Each record links to associated analysts and ratings, providing essential context on equity research sources and supporting analysis of firm-level market activity.
